Fyrinnae’s Ethereal Éire

One of the eight colors released in Fyrinnae's Samhain 2012 collection (which will remain as part of the regular line. Like its other collections, Fyrinnae doesn't do LE colors, instead only discontinuing a color when its ingredients are no longer available…or, presumably, when a color just doesn't sell.)

Ethereal Éire is a softer silvered/gilded clear medium-light green. First visual impressions of the color can look like it's a bit muted or greyed - but that's not the case. Applied, the green shows gold, silver, or blue shimmer depending on the angle of the light. The coverage is excellent, application is even, and the color works well as an all-over base shade, or an accent. There isn't much visual difference between the dry or wet application. This might work as a liner shade if a darker deep matte or satin green was used as an all-over lid color; but this color definitely has shimmer, so the visual contrast might be sufficient, but the “switching” of textures might take a bit of getting used to.

A montage of three images: top left, close-up of the eyeshadow in the pot; top right, the eyeshadow mixed with water and applied to bare skin; bottom left, the eyeshadow applied dry over primer.

Because this color is so clear, it won't necessarily look its best when paired with muted or greyed shades - unless they greyed shade is very close to Éire's own base color. I'll have to pair this shade with Aromaleigh v1's Palmetto and see how that combination works.
