Fyrinnae’s Fireside Interlude

This has an almost-metallic finish…and a tendency to want to apply unevenly. It's very frustrating! But when I can get it to apply evenly (both the deeper orange base color and the metallic-gold top layer) the color is a muted-metallic reddish gold. It's a bit tricky to find colors that go well with this one, at least for me. I'm limited to…well, the brown spectrum: dark brown, medium-light brown, all sorts of beiges. (Taupes don't seem to play well with this one - I'm guessing because of the grey tones in taupe, and Fireside Intelude is DEFINITELY not grey.) Blues don't coordinate too well unless they're almost blackened; same with purples. Reds can possibly work if you use orangey reds, which I don't really buy.

A montage of three images: top left, close-up of the eyeshadow in the pot; top right, the eyeshadow mixed with water and applied to bare skin; bottom left, the eyeshadow applied dry over primer.

Eventually I'll begin finding other colors in my collection that look good with this color, and the resulting combination also looks good on me. Until then, I have a very interesting accent-shade for beige- and brown-eyeshadow looks.
