Fyrinnae’s Gaeity

Just barely more green than blue. (If you want something that's more blue than green, check out Kraken.) The coverage is pretty solid, and the shade is bright without being a “neon” shade. BareMinerals' Jade comes close, but even that color is a little bit softer than this one.

Photos that show how the product actually performs...! See how I create my swatches

A montage of three images: top left, close-up of the eyeshadow in the pot; top right, the eyeshadow mixed with water and applied to bare skin; bottom left, the eyeshadow applied dry over primer.

I got my initial sample of Gaeity before they had completely cleared their backstock of their old formula, and the full-size was in Fyrinnae's new formula - which is, texturally, more like MAC's Crushed Metallic pigments. In the past two years, Fyrinnae (and a few other indie makeup vendors) have added myristyl myristate to their eyeshadows. Myristyl myristate is a vegetable-derived fatty acid, and is approved for lip, eye, skin, and hair products; but I don't know how its inclusion will affect product shelf life (and I'm also not totally wild about how it changes dry application of eyeshadows.) I do like this shade, but I wish that I had gotten it in full-size before all the “old-formula” stock ran out. (I don't have an ingredient list of what Fyrinnae shadows contained before their reformulation, so I don't know if mysristyl myristate or cyclopentasiloxane were in their eyeshadows before…but it may take me a while to warm up to the new formula.)
