MAC’s Brash and Bold pigment

I bought this as soon as it was available on the website, as part of the Year of the Snake collection in February 2013. Come to find out it's a repromote, and was previously (originally?) released as part of the Art Cosmetics collection in 2009! Doesn't matter much to me, though. I love this color, and was glad of another chance to get my hands on it. (Even if the prices for MAC's pigments are slowly creeping upward.)

The color payoff is really good, and the finish is partway between a matte and a very faint pearl. The color looks deeper in the pot, and applies as a medium-deep melon-rose. I like hot pink and fuchsia eyeshadows, but I also like that there are more rose options - for days when I want a strong color accent that isn't an out-and-out neon.

Photos that show how the product actually performs...! See how I create my swatches

A montage of three images: top left, close-up of the eyeshadow in the pot; top right, the eyeshadow mixed with water and applied to bare skin; bottom left, the eyeshadow applied dry over primer.
