When I started buying mineral makeup, I went on an interference-color bender. I'd first run across these shades in the very early 80s, when a relative gave me the Dior Moonstones quad with four interference colors. I kept that palette for just over 20 years, and hit pan on three of the colors, before I started noticing it going “off.” I was desperate to replace that palette, but wasn't seeing anything…until I got my hands on these.
Most of the Star Powder pigments are fairly similar, in color, to many of the plain micas that I can pick up from TKB Trading or another wholesale. The difference I see is that these adhere a bit better than the plain micas, and have better color payoff and effects than the BareMinerals interference colors.
