Every year, Meow puts out a few new winter-holiday collections - and this was the first to be released. I like the color palette! Richer shades, but not drab or greyed.
As is the case with nearly every Meow collection, my decisions on which colors to buy fullsize changed a little once I swatched them. I’d originally decided against Stormy Night and Solemn Stillness, but decided that at some point I’ll get them in full size. Midnight Clear isn’t the exact shade of blue I thought it would be - it’s a bit closer to Aromaleigh’s Not So Silent Night, with more of a metallic texture than Not So Silent’s out-and-out sparkle-glam - but it’s still an attractive color. And Ancient Splendor isn’t what I thought it would be…but it’s gorgeous in different ways! I also like that there are ten colors in this collection, rather than 15 or 25. Meow now has a really large array of holiday colors to choose from that it’s nice to have new collections be smaller. I don’t feel quite so overwhelmed in making my choices! (And I’m betting that it puts a little less stress on them, as well, to formulate a collection that’s around a dozen shades instead of nearly twice that.)
Most of the colors in this collection have shimmery or outright metallic finishes. Most of the metallic shades are the softened-metallics, though, a bit like the Castaway collection shades. The palette reminds me slightly of the Shattered Equinox collection. There aren't exact duplicates, and the shimmer finish in most of the SE shades is a bit more textured than these colors.
