Meow Cosmetics’ Scourge

This is a very dark olive green, but it's definitely not blackened. It's also not dark enough to be confused for black. I've used this as an accent and a crease color, and I think it could be used in a smokey eye; but I haven't had much success using it as an all-over color. It overwhelms my eye makeup when I try, because it's such a dark and strong color. I haven't tried this yet, but I can easily see myself using this as a liner color.

Photos that show how the product actually performs...! See how I create my swatches

A montage of three images: top left, close-up of the eyeshadow in the pot; top right, the eyeshadow mixed with water and applied to bare skin; bottom left, the eyeshadow applied dry over primer.

Color payoff is about the same applied wet or dry, and fortunately, it's a fairly solid, heavy color payoff. (Some greens from other companies - and a few from Meow - have looked dark in the pot, but applied overly soft or even *gasp* a bit patchy.) Though the manufacturer photo and description indicated a high shimmer finish for this color, the shimmer is fairly sparse and is more subtle. It highlights, rather than effectively muting the underlying color.
