Morgana Cryptoria’s Helios

There's almost a greenish tint, a patina, to this color. It's not a new-minted gold, more like tarnished or old gold. There's a bit of depth to the color. In certain lighting, this color is right on the borderline of gilded olive. The finish isn't quite metallic, but it's a very smooth shimmer. The color payoff is equally good whether the shade is applied wet or dry.

A montage of three images: top left, close-up of the eyeshadow in the pot; top right, the eyeshadow mixed with water and applied to bare skin; bottom left, the eyeshadow applied dry over primer.

This color wasn't in the first batch that I ordered from the Cleopatra collection. I wavered on it until I saw a few more blog swatches - and even then I had the internal debate with myself. Would it just be too green for me to wear easily, or would it be more like Aromaleigh's Oberon (a gold with green duochrome shimmer)? I do have to be a little more careful which colors I pair this with, so that the gold is the dominant shade rather than the green; but I do like that it's not a gold that's available from so many different vendors, indie or corporate.
