Sometimes, you get something you weren’t expecting. That’s definitely the case when buying makeup online. You have to rely on the merchant’s swatches and color descriptions. Sometimes the unexpected is good. Sometimes…not so much.
I really love Morgana Cryptoria’s lip balms! The consistency is good and the price is right. There’s a huge variety of colors, including the beiges, reds, and pinks I’m more comfortable with (as opposed to the dark purple, wild emerald green, or blue shades that look great as eyeshadows or eyeliners, but are definitely outside my personal “lip color” comfort zone.) I’ve tried a few of Morgana’s nude and brown lipsticks and been pleasantly surprised, so I felt comfortable trying some of the brown lip balms. I love Coventry (which is a light brown-mauve)! Anastasia is a nice barely-deeper-than-nude mauve-brown that looks very good on me. I’m not so in love with Nevermore - and that’s solely because of the color. The product itself is fine, it’s just a bit too dark for my preferences. (I might try using it over a really light pink lip color like Vienna or London, and see if that makes it wearable for me.)
This color doesn’t look quite as deep as Mocha Blast, a lipstick from Morgana that I sampled and found to be too dark for my preferences. I might be able to get this product to work for me if I apply it lightly over a bright lip color.
