Notoriously Morbid’s The Dire Mother

This eyeshadow looks like it'll be a solid sapphire when you see the in-the-pot or in-the-pan color. It ends up being a faded-denim (not sunbleached, not really stonewashed either) with a pink interference effect. I have some other eyeshadows that are similar, but they are a lighter blue, and possibly semi-sheer to boot. This is a slightly darker blue, and is definitely opaque.

Shades like this are good "gateway / first step" colors if you've always wanted to wear blue eyeshadow but are really concerned with overdoing it: the blue is not vibrant, but it's also not so soft that you've got to pack on a lot of the product for the blue to be visible. It does blend well with other colors, but blending makes the pink interference almost invisible.

A montage of three images: top left, close-up of the eyeshadow in the pot; top right, the eyeshadow mixed with water and applied to bare skin; bottom left, the eyeshadow applied dry over primer.
