This is such a deep red it’s almost purple…but it’s not as truly-purple as the lid color would indicate. This color is deeper even if you apply it and blot it almost immediately. I didn’t notice any staining, even after I removed the lip color after one full hour. It has about the same durability as the other Dazed and Diffused lip colors - that is, it doesn’t fade instantly, but it will require touchups after eating or drinking. Because of the format and the formula, there is more of a risk of pulling while applying. It does stay spreadable for about 5 minutes after initial application, and the flat broad brush on the opposite end of the pencil is great for evening out the color. I prefer the Buxom Plumpliners in terms of formula and durability, but their shade range is a bit smaller - there’s no deep purple-red like this one, for example.
