NYX Cosmetics’ Sweet Cheeks Creamy Powder Blush collection

I was so interested in these! I liked that you could get each color in matte or glow/shimmer finish, and the color range seemed small but pretty good - a deep cool red, a pale pink, a coral, a brick, a purple-red, light tan…a really good palette. The intimiation of a cream-to-powder formula was a little concerning because I prefer cosmetics that will have a good long shelf life, but I thought: well, let’s try these out! Red Riot and Boom & Bloom really caught my eye.

Photos that show how the product actually performs...! See how I create my swatches

Three blushes, swatched: Bang Bang (glow), Boom & Bloom (glow), and Day Dream (glow). Three blushes, swatched: Fig (glow), Risky Business (glow), and So Taupe (glow).

The blushes apply easily and blend well. Unfortunately…they are fragile as fuck. This comes from them being a rather small amount of product spread very thinly over a large pan. The matte ones, especially, often break in transit. It took me three tries to order Red Riot Matte online, but two of those times it broken in transit. One of my cats smashed another one just by knocking it off of the bathroom counter. While the larger pan does make it easier to pick the product up on a brush, the fact that it’s so prone to breakage is exceedingly exasperating.
