OPI’s Designer Series Sapphire

I really wanted to like this color more than I do. Actually, that's a bit of a misstatement: I love the color. It's the polish I don't love as much as I'd hoped. With four coats, you can still see a little bit of VNL! Luckily this Designer Series polish - or this batch, at any rate - has more holographic particles than some of the others I've reviewed. So even with the VNL, you get a good holographic display. This polish is gorgeous in full sunlight: an almost greyed blue background color, with a not-quite-linear holographic effect? It's really fantastic! I just wish that it were opaque. Or even a little bit more opaque. I wouldn't mind this level of VNL if that's what showed up after two coats. But to see that after four? Very dispiriting.
