OPI’s Sahara Sapphire

This color is the only other shade I have from the Painted Desert collection - and I bought both of them without realizing that they were part of that collection! I think I was able to find this because it was re-released so recently in the Colorcopia collection.

The color is a bit watery, so one coat gets just a whisper of blue…so it could be an interesting layering polish. Two coats gets even coverage, but still not enough color depth. I needed to apply three coats of this color to get the full greyed blue. It is metallic, the spreadability could be better - I was able to see brushstrokes, though I noticed that the nails where I applied a heavier third coat, there were fewer visible brushstrokes.

Close-up photo of the middle three fingernails of the left hand, showing the nail color applied. The left hand holding a bottle of nail polish and displaying all manicured fingernails, with 2 coats of OPI's Sahara Sapphire Four fingers in a row, resting on the thumb, with all nails displaying 2 coats of OPI's Sahara Sapphire

This color reminded me a little bit of Sally Hansen's Pedal to the Metal, but reminded me very strongly of China Glaze's Avalanche. I think it may be a cousin of one of the shades I have from the Khrome collection, as well - but a little more muted.
