Please pardon the gaps...

The site is in mid-migration now (manual migration of over 7,000 entries, so there's a lot to be done.) The entry stubs are created for older content, but for the most part, the actual content isn't there quite yet. I am working on it. Unfortunately I have no ETA. But feel free to link to any page! When the content does get populated, the URL will stay the same.

Playing catch-up

I've actually been bombarded this past week, so haven't gotten as much content put up as I'd like. I am making some progress on the site, though.

  • Last weekend I hit the mall and went to both BE and Sephora. Got a few goodies: Benefit's Girl's Night In kit (for which I paid $38, not $49), a BE lipstick, a (utterly useless) Sephora-brand cuticle-oil pencil, and six BE colors including some of the "re-releases".
  • I received my TSS fullsize order of some older LE colors and my Kiss of This and That sample collection, plus the three fullsize colors I chose from One Little Dress. I placed another order just a few days ago for the Hope Quest quad. (Also for a few lip balms and for the color correctors. And another sample collection. Worked a LOT of events this past month, and am celebrating just a wee bit.)
  • I started comparing the interfine powders from the various MMU companies and looking for the best value. TSS has many different colors and particle sizes, but doesn't currently let you purchase larger size jars (if one so desires.) Pure Luxe has the most colors, including "opal" which I've not seen anywhere else, and they offer three different purchase sizes; but a 10-gram jar is the largest they offer. Coastal Scents never carried orange/copper interfine powder...and now I notice that they're no longer carrying gold/yellow pearl-finish interfine powder. A search of the wider web may help someone who knows how to ferret out these folks' suppliers...but I'm out of my depth. I know that if I purchase particle sizes too small, it will be more of an inhalant danger over time especially as I plan on trying to mix my own "Kaleidescope" colors; and if I get too-large particle sizes, I'll get glitter instead of the pearl finish/additive I want. (Plus...I'll have a hell of a lot of it.)
  • I found another jar supplier on Ebay. The person's been a seller since 2005, their reputation percentage is high, their last negative was one single client more than six months ago, and their prices are better than either of the places I've used previously. The prices are about 30% more per jar than I would be paying if I purchased a big lot from Kosmetech - which I don't have the money for right now. Much better prices than any other jar seller on Ebay, even including the shipping...so I placed an order. We'll see how good the jars are when they arrive. (I didn't order sifters. Kosmetech always sends more sifters than are ordered - to make up for the half-melted ones in the batches. Thus I have quite a few "spare" sifters.) Once those arrive, I'll be able to properly pot and store my newer colors.

This weekend I need to hit the paint store and get some samples for my house's exterior color. I also need to ask advice on painting the bathroom - specifically, what can I do to ensure that the paint adheres to the sealant around the shower (the previous owners used the wrong kind of sealant, so after a while the paint just slides right off. Hopefully I don't have to put a thin coat of the "right" kind of sealant over it, then paint that...but if that's what I have to do, then that's what I have to do.) How I'm going to paint the bathroom with a painful toe, I'm not sure...but I bought that paint back in December, and the warmer weather means that this is a great time to paint the bathroom, leave the windows open, let the fumes leave, and let the paint cure properly.

Good grief, that means I'll have to move all my makeup out...
