Poll: what’s on tap for the weekend?

Please pardon the gaps...

The site is in mid-migration now (manual migration of over 7,000 entries, so there's a lot to be done.) The entry stubs are created for older content, but for the most part, the actual content isn't there quite yet. I am working on it. Unfortunately I have no ETA. But feel free to link to any page! When the content does get populated, the URL will stay the same.

Poll: what’s on tap for the weekend?

Wandered over to Vampy Varnish this morning, and saw...a poll. Cool! I'm working on scheduling posts quite far into the future; but didn't have anything for today. (I know. How sad is that?) At any rate, on with the show:

  1. How was your week?
Busy. Busy, busy, busy. The phrase "one legged man in an ass-kicking contest" seems rather fitting. I was busy every day at work with the latest major platform migration, I had trouble falling asleep at nights, and then had trouble waking up in the mornings. Just a nasty cycle. I'm very glad, though, that it was nowhere near this hectic two weeks ago! That's when I had to wake up at 4:30am on a Friday morning to try and book hotel rooms for Dragon*Con 2011. I got us rooms at our desired hotel for the entire week that Sirvinya and I will be there - so we don't have to do any hotel-switching, I got us good deals, and we can take transit straight from the airport to a stop a block away from the hotel - easy, inexpensive, painless. That day was fairly calm for me at work, as was the whole week before. If I had been at the tail end of a busy work week where I'd had trouble sleeping...gah. I don't even want to think about it!
  1. Whatcha wearing on your nails today?
Zoya's Brizia, for the fourth day in a row. I am really really liking this color!
  2. Who is your favorite female actress right now?
Um. Don't know that I necessarily have one. That could also just be a reflection of how this week's gone, though. Check back with me in about two months, when I'm not so fantastically busy and harried.
  3. Do you dress up for Halloween? What will your costume be this year?
I'll be dressing as a future Time Lord Companion. I dressed up when I was a kid, but gradually stopped because it was too much work and not nearly enough fun.
  4. Horror movies, yay or nay?
Gothic horror films, or Hitchcockian ones where most of the horror comes from the viewer's own imagination - yay. I've never been a hack-and-slash junkie, not even when playing D&D.
  5. What is your all-time favorite eyeshadow color?
Any jeweltoned duochrome. I know that seems like an outrageous cop-out; but I can't pick just one.
  6. What is the most challenging book you have ever read?
James Joyce's Ulysses. I was not 100% in love with the story, or the characters, but I got halfway through and was bound and determined to finish that thing. Which I eventually did. I can appreciate the technical aspects of the storytelling, and appreciate that Joyce did create characters that were not simplistic, or automatically lovable, and were not mainstream. I appreciate that he was trying to communicate. But I'll never be a huge fan.
  7. Have you ever tried Matzo crackers? What’s your fav way to eat them?
Haven't ever tried them, though I did enjoy Golfwidow's tweeted culinary discovery: matzah plus cheese plus jalapenos = matchos.
  8. How long on average do you spend styling your hair every day?
My hair is styled by gravity. I comb it, part it properly, and that's pretty much it. So...five minutes, unless it's so hot that I grab a scrunchie and wear it in a bun to keep it off my neck.
  9. Any fun weekend plans?
Sleeping. Laundry. And baking a red velvet cake, giving half of it to my neighbor, and eating half of what remains (because if I keep the whole thing myself, I'll eat the whole thing myself. Over a week, granted...but I do not need to eat an entire cake by myself.) So not much in the way of "fun", but definitely "relaxing". Except for the laundry, and that needs to be done because I'm running out of clean socks.
