Please pardon the gaps...

The site is in mid-migration now (manual migration of over 7,000 entries, so there's a lot to be done.) The entry stubs are created for older content, but for the most part, the actual content isn't there quite yet. I am working on it. Unfortunately I have no ETA. But feel free to link to any page! When the content does get populated, the URL will stay the same.

Quick review: Bare Escentuals’ The Surprise kit

I went to Bare Escentuals' Holiday Preview night at my local boutique. They didn't have some items in stock when I went for the viewing, so I didn't get a chance to look at the Winter Escapade set of buxoms - but I did see the Surprise kit. All items are hematite-infused, and everything's new. There are no repeats in this kit. Even the brushes are all new. Here are my superquick notes:

Secret Radiance: more golden than Clear Radiance, less brown than Pure Radiance. I like this shade - I'm thinking augmentation for my blush, brushing it along the tops of my cheekbones for a nice highlighting effect.

Tapered Crease Defining Brush: much like the Crease Defining Brush, but shorter bristles, so a bit more control. I like this one as well.

Soft Sweep Cheek Brush: don't know about this one. Could be useful, could be non-useful. Folks who are true wizards may love the fact that it's a flatter profile than the other two face brushes, or even the tapered cheek brush.

Line Diffuser Brush: has the potential to be fairly useful - unlike the super-short-bristled brushes in BE's current lineup, which look like some people simply whacked off the tops of much longer brushes, leaving behind something that's really not useful for much. On the other hand, this may be just large enough that it won't work as a detail brush, and small enough that it won't work as much else.

Double-ended lip gloss: has potential, except for the thrice-cursed brush applicator. One end is fuller-coverage and less sparkle, while the other end is sheerer and more sparkly. Can be used together or separately. (But…a brush applicator? Guh. There are those who loathe the doefoots and rejoice at the brush applicators in lip products. I am not one of those people.)

Eye colors: Spellbound, Surreal, and Suspense: a soft pink (think demure but less pigmented and more shimmer), a light cocoa shimmer, and a soft charcoal with slight sheen. A warmer color combination, but still close enough to neutral to not be unwearable on truly cool-complected folks.

So there's my superfast take. Now I'm off to watch The Thirteenth Warrior. It's not highbrow, but it's entertaining. Photos and more details tomorrow.
