One day I was travelling overnight for work, and realized that I’d left several things at home - including all of my makeup brushes. I headed to the store to pick up what I needed, and…well, I was kind of forced to buy this set of Real Techniques brushes because they were the only brush set that was both not mini brushes, and on sale.
What a burden it was. But I bore it stoically.
I’m not a ginormous fan of Real Techniques brushes. They’re decent quality, but most of them are softer, and they’re on the costlier side. I’ve been fortunate enough that I haven’t paid full retail price for any of the Real Techniques brush sets I’ve bought. Every single one of them has been at least 60% off the retail price when I picked them up. There are some Real Techniques singleton brushes and tools that I absolutely love (like the v1 Lash and Brow Groomer, of which I have one in-use and three backups.)
These brushes are mostly on the softer side, though two of them - the cheek brush and the accent brush - have a nice density, so they give me a little bit more control. My least favorite brush is the lip brush. I’ve never been a huge fan of lip brushes from any vendor. I’m thinking of other ways that I can retask this brush and get some really good use out of it. It’s a little wide for a liner brush, not dense / stiff enough for a cream liner application brush, but it may be useful for applying smaller strips of eyeshadow.
