Revlon’s Colorburst Balmstain in Adore

I've spoken of my love the Revlon's balmstains. They are very easy to dispense, they're not nearly-invisible sheer washes of color, they run from pale to pigmented, and they're nicely inexpensive. I happened on a display where all Revlon products were Buy One Get One 50% off, and I had my Walgreen's rewards to cash in, so…yay. I was able to pick up a few colors that I might have otherwise taken a pass on. All in the name of trying them out, and swatching them for you lovely people. (Yes. Thorough research. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.)

Adore is one of the lipstain colors that I picked up but thought that it might not work too well for me. I thought the color might be just a touch too warm. It almost is…but if I wear the right colors, and don't apply it heavily, this shade can work for me. The gold shimmer is minimal, and while there appears to be very faint green shimmers in the detail photo, any green shimmer is merely a faint highlight rather than something that's overtly visible. I am guessing that they put it in there to make the color pull slightly cooler.

Photos that show how the product actually performs...! See how I create my swatches

A montage of three images: top left, close-up of the lip color in the tube; top right, the color applied over bare skin, to better show the shade; and below, the color applied to the lips.
