The name ‘lilac' made me think that this would be a paler, cooler color. It's actually a cool berry-mauve, not a predominantly purple shade. The color-tile on the end of the tube makes it appear that this shade will be more pastel and more purple than it actually is…so I'm glad I broke down and got a tube when my local drugstore was having a buy-one-get-one-half-off sale and clearing out their older (read: outer-heat-shrinkwrapped) inventory.
