Sally Hansen’s Fee Fi Fo Plum (495)

I have a hard time telling if purples, especially deeper purples, don't lean warm or cool; but I think this is actually a neutral purple. I'm not seeing red or plummy tones in this shade. If it's a violet, it's a warmer violet - since violets often seem bluer.

The formula is just a little on the thicker side: you can see I had some issues with pulling at the lower coat on some nails, when I applied the second coat. It isn't so thick that it caused major problems, though; and it's easier to adjust a too-thick nail polish formula, than a too-thin one. (Add actual nail polish thinner, not nail polish remover!!!) It does make my hands look a little bit red when I wear it, so it isn't the best all-over manicure shade on me. But it looks great when I use it in nail art, especially if it's a smaller image or a minimalist design.

This was one of the colors added to the CSM line-up in Fall 2014.
