Saturday Soundtrack: Apparition (Delerium)

Haven't done one of these in a while! But while I've been spending the weekends on my image-reformatting binges, I've had music playing. Mostly electronica, because the steady tempo throughout (usually) encourages the repetitive job of reformatting thousands (!!!) of images, while the changing tunes keep my brain happily entertained and distracted from the fact that what I'm doing is not the most exciting thing in the world. The tempo is wrong for running or working out, and there are some songs with an intro or a bridge that drops the tempo rather drastically; but the albums are great for the type of work I've been doing for the past month.

Saturday Soundtrack: Apparition (Delerium)

I think that's one of the reasons that I enjoy bands like Delerium: the music is interesting, the mix of layered vocal sampling over electronica is very well executed, and yet in a given album, the tempo doesn't vary much from song to song. It's perfect for walking, large amounts of image processing, anything where you need to Just Keep Going (and so any tempo change would be possibly bad) but you want something interesting to listen to. It's also interesting to listen to the Delerium tracks, then contrast them with whatever music was sampled in that track.
