Sephora’s Day to Night Eye Pencil in Sunburst

This pencil is very pigmented. It does stay put. But…it's not at all easy to apply.

I had hopes for this color in particular. A really great orange eyeliner that wasn't a) candy-bright; or b) metallic? Yes, definitely! The pencils can be extended or retracted, and the casing is plastic, so I had hopes that it would travel well.

Photos that show how the product actually performs...! See how I create my swatches

A montage of three images: top left, close-up of the eyeliner tube or pencil barrel; top right, the eyeliner applied over bare skin, to better show the shade and properties; and below, the eyeliner applied on the eyelid at the lash line.

Unfortunately, the eyeliner is so very pigmented that while I had to press a bit hard to get a decent swatch, I had to be so careful when actually putting it on my eyelids. I ended up doing a series of smaller “dots”, which took a long time. Yes, it lasted all day. But…good grief!! I should not have to try so hard to avoid puncturing my own eyeball.

This pencil was not available for standalone purchase. It came with Copper Brown (warm brown) and Black Flame (black…well, black.) I haven't bothered trying those two pencils, seeing how much trouble this one was.
