Silk Naturals’ Aurora

It's supposed to be a sparkly shadow, I swear! Well, it is according to Silk Naturals' website. It looked that way in the pot. But when I applied it, I got this wonderfully dark blackened purple shade. I wonder if this was kind of what Drama Purple would have looked like? (I have faint hopes that Aromaleigh will bring back that collection, too…because I missed out on Drama Purple.) It will work for eyelining, accent, and smokey eye. It could likely also work as a contouring shade in a regular look; it's just not the first thing I would think of because in my mind's eye, this would overpower anything else. (I know. I'm weird.)

Photos that show how the product actually performs...! See how I create my swatches

A montage of three images: top left, close-up of the eyeshadow in the pot; top right, the eyeshadow mixed with water and applied to bare skin; bottom left, the eyeshadow applied dry over primer.

I got this color in a kit that Silk Naturals had, the Aurora Borealis kit (with this, Bling, Rollick, and a tube of Stick ‘em.) Aurora seems to be discontinued now…I can't find it on the site. Makes me really glad that I got several back-up jars when I had the chance!
