In…what…2012? I tweeted that if anyone made a burgundy eyeliner, I'd be all over that thing. I specifically mentioned Stila. Apparently they listened - because in 2013, when the smudge stick line went from 10 colors to 30, this shade was part of the new lineup.

(And yes, as soon as I noticed it, I was all over this one!) It's really amazing - it's a deep enough red that you don't look like you're wearing red eyeliner, but not so brown that the red tones are invisible.

Once on, it stays in place very well, and it cures completely after about a minute - so that you have time to smudge it out, if you wish; but not so much curing-time that you feel like you need to turn a blowdryer on your lids to get on with your day.

If you've kind of wanted to try red eyeliners, but really didn't want a bright or candied red, this is an excellent shade. It can look like a reddish deep brown, but in the right lighting and next to warmer colors the red tones are more visible - but, again, not so much that it looks -=red=-.
