Tarte’s Lipsurgence in Glisten

I got this one partially to “try out” this finish, but also to see what this color would look like. The matte version of this - Exposed - does stay put better and has better color payoff, but it isn’t the best color on me. Glisten can actually work over darker berry lipstains to tone them down just a tiny bit. I can almost use this the same way I use Joy buxom - to make darker lipstains a little bit more usable.
This color is fairly sheer, and while it applies smoothly, it’s hard to tell if this one stays in place very well. It definitely does not “migrate” as badly as the NYX Round Lipsticks do (and for the price point, I should hope it isn’t quite that bad!!!), but I felt the need to touch up after about three hours. While some of the semisheer Lipsurgence colors are slightly buildable, this one wasn’t. Putting on more just meant that my lips were slipperier, and that the stuff came off easier on my coffee-mug rim. The shimmer in this pencil is fairly sparse, which is kind of good - you get a nice subtle shimmer without a “glitterbomb” effect. Like all the Lipsurgence pencils, this had a faint peppermint scent and felt slightly cooling on initial application.
