Tarte’s Lipsurgence in Pouty
  • Manufacturer: Tarte Cosmetics
  • Availability: part of the Lipsurgence collection
  • Color Range: berry pink shimmer
  • Staying Power: 3 out of 4
  • Cost/Amount: USD$24 for 2.6 ml / .08 fl oz each
  • Would you purchase again: yes

I’d almost call this a watermelon-berry…there’s a brightness to it that I’ve seen in lots of other “watermelon” shades. (And I’ve gotten in the habit of having a cup of fresh-cut fruit for lunch every day, so I’ve seen lots of chunks of watermelon lately!) There is just the faintest shimmer to it - not much, it’s almost more of a “glossy-look” than an actual shimmer finish, but it is there. I wish that this were a little more pigmented, and that it stayed in place longer. It’s a lovely shade, and like the Lipsurgence formulas; but they tend to need lots of reapplication. Even with no eating or drinking, this color is almost gone in just over an hour.

It’s gorgeous!! Now I’m trying to figure out if I can come up with a table-of-equivalencies between the Lipsurgences, and Revlon’s Just Bitten Kissables. Revlon’s color payoff is a bit better, and the price is excellent.
