All this month, several amazing beauty bloggers and beauty companies are joining forces to raise money for Susan G Komen and breast cancer awareness. Folks will be posting looks, hosting giveaways every week! Check out all the fun at Team Pink Eye for all the fun!Some blogs will be hosting giveaways - check each individual blog for details. There is a mandatory $5 donation to enter the giveaways for that week, but that donation (the cost of one pot of eye shadow) gets entry into any and all giveaways for that week. I'll be totally honest: back a ways, when I was first hearing about this, I thought it would be excellent to post a look, maybe do a giveaway if I had time. And then I started one new job and lined up a second (part time), and my brain kind of went kerflooey. If I didn't have scheduled posts, my blog would have been utterly bare since the last week of September, no activity whatsoever.

This, though…this is important. This cancer is usually quite beatable - if it's detected early. Knowing your family history can help you know if you need to ask your doctor about starting screening earlier than most people. Screening can save you a whole lot of trauma, worry, pain, and fear.

I don't know if I'll be able to post a look (which I'd really like to do tomorrow,) but this is definitely something you should check out. Donate to Team Pink Eye (their goal is $1,000 in the month of October, and they're currently at 29%!) Just $5 a week (which is either a pot of eyeshadow, or a latte), you can get in on all kinds of fantastic giveaways and support research, education, screenings, and treatment programs.
