The SheSpace refocusing - closing down the MMU line

Please pardon the gaps...

The site is in mid-migration now (manual migration of over 7,000 entries, so there's a lot to be done.) The entry stubs are created for older content, but for the most part, the actual content isn't there quite yet. I am working on it. Unfortunately I have no ETA. But feel free to link to any page! When the content does get populated, the URL will stay the same.

The SheSpace refocusing - closing down the MMU line

I'm on vacation today, but I still have internet access using my parents' computer. I logged on, checked a few sites…and found out that The SheSpace is phasing out its mineral makeup line entirely. This division, called AboutFace Cosmetics, is liquidating its inventory and will “close shop” when all the current product is gone. The site will remain active, while Heather focuses on the Hope Quest concept: far fewer colors, inspirational messages, and making a positive impact on women's lives and on helping women. She's made initial inroads on this project, with the Hope Quest quads and with Inspiration Pie; but she's decided to refocus entirely, and dedicate her efforts to making a positive impact and reaching out in a more direct way than selling mineral makeup.

Meanwhile, all inventory is reduced in price and all eyecolors are $2.50 per pot. If you've never tried TSS, you might want to…and if you've tried a few colors, you might want to stock up! My recommendations: Wilted Roses, Ethereal Winds, Whirling Golden Devils, Too Cool For School, False Pretense, Roaring Metaphor, Electric Lust, Mesh and Lace, Seeds of Truth, Lucifer's Chariot, Fire and Brimstone, Reap and Sew.

This has the side effect of making nearly 1/3 of my collection “limited edition” at a single stroke. Seeing that I was hoping to cross-reference similar colors from the brands that I buy, and a) help people avoid too much duplication or b) find substitutes for discontinued favorites, I don't know whether this is a good thing or a bad thing. There have only ever been a few exact duplicates between BE and TSS, and Aromaleigh and TSS, so finding exact dupes doesn't always work. I guess I'll have my work cut out for me, though: using TSS in my looks and pointing them to similar colors they can buy from BE or Aromaleigh. (Simply Naturals has lots of inexpensive colors, but they don't really have much in the way of things that will match up with TSS. And even though I bought a lot of colors in a relatively short time - 900 in two years - I managed to end up with no more than 30 exact dupes total.)

Ah, well. Focus on tutorials, then, and putting together “stuff I've learned”. That sounds like a plan…
