The SheSpace’s Vampires Tap Dancing

I have found my blue-red. This is the color I was searching for!! Part of TSS' Storypeople limited collection, Vampires Tap Dancing is a bright, rich red shimmer with hints of blue interference. I was teetering on the edge of not buying this color, but after seeing some other ladies post their looks, I decided to buy it just before the collection was pulled from availability.

Photos that show how the product actually performs...! See how I create my swatches

A montage of three images: top left, close-up of the eyeshadow in the pot; top right, the eyeshadow mixed with water and applied to bare skin; bottom left, the eyeshadow applied dry over primer.

When my order arrived, some of the jars had come open during transit - so the jars were coated with color. Rather than lose this color completely, I just used a brush to get the pigment off the outsides of the jars and applied it then and there. This color really made my blue eyes stand out!! Apply it carefully, though, or you will look like you've been ill. (Red near the eyes is always a tricky thing - but when used properly, it can REALLY enhance lighter blue or blue-grey eyes.

Vampires Tap Dancing is a bright red pigment, and has a medium shimmer/pearl effect, even when applied dry. The color is just slightly blue-red, and the color can appear to have a blue interference-layer when the light hits it just exactly right. It is closest to Bare Escentuals' limited-availability color Salsa; but VTD is both less sheer and a deeper color. It is also similar to Simply Naturals' Cardinal (not a limited edition or limited-availability color), but is slightly warmer red, has more shimmer, and is more pigmented.

That first day I applied this color, I was headed out for an appointment and wanted to tone down the color just slightly. I lightly patted Bare Escentuals' Hot Spot over it, and VTD's red was cooled down while the blue was emphasized (due to the interference-blue in Hot Spot)

This color would also probably work very well as a lip color or nail color. I think it might be too pigmented and too “blue” to make a good daily-use cheek color for fairer-skinned women.
