Too many toys!!

Please pardon the gaps...

The site is in mid-migration now (manual migration of over 7,000 entries, so there's a lot to be done.) The entry stubs are created for older content, but for the most part, the actual content isn't there quite yet. I am working on it. Unfortunately I have no ETA. But feel free to link to any page! When the content does get populated, the URL will stay the same.

Too many toys!!

Today was a bumper crop of deliveries and general goodness:

  • Les Papillons sample collection, from Aromaleigh
  • empty jars from Kosmetech (yes, this is a big thing)
  • Surprise and Winter Escapade, from the BE preview night
  • my latest Sephora order, which included MUFE's Flash Color cream color and OPI's Under My Trench Coat nail polish

I feel like Pinocchio, sitting around looking at all the toys wondering which I'll play with first :D This is probably going to ruin my to-do list, which includes swatching and photographing TSS' Utterly Fabulous Fall collection, doing the same for Les Papillons, adding more kit listings to my site, revamping the list of "featured items" in the upper right hand corner, and - oh, yes, pesky things like doing laundry and cleaning the floors. And now that the proper-size jars are here I can put the new colors into said jars, photograph them (in the pots, not swatched) for the Color Gallery, then put them away...and add some more near-empty jars to my on-deck bin. It's not just the new toys (which are all cool), but the equipment to properly organize said new toys.

I know, I know: I'm a wee bit odd.

In a spot of brightness (for me and my wallet, not for the retailers) I've concluded that I don't have to buy the BE Happiness kit because the colors are far too similar to the ones in the Surprise kit. (And honestly: who wants to buy a product that is infused with something mood-altering? I already know I'm an MMU addict, I don't need the topical hallucinogen to prove it. [Interesting historical side note: woad, the blue stuff that ancient Celtic warriors applied to themselves before they went into battle, is a topical hallucinogen. You rub it on your skin, and you get a buzz. Ah, give me that old-time skin care regimen...]) I haven't seen the Ulta-exclusive Jewelled collection yet, but I'm more than willing to bet that its colors will also be quite similar - so there's another nifty new bit of shiny that I'm not lemming to own. I've also concluded that because of the depth and breadth of my own collection, I don't need anything from the two fall collections that I have to swatch and photograph. There are one or two colors that are making me waver, but for the most part...eh, got other similar stuff. Very pretty, quite lovely, but I'm on a budget and already have a great whanging load of bright purples/pinks/greens.

And! And! I've found someone to split the Buxom Babes About Town collection with me: she'll take the warm colors, I'll take the cool colors, and we split the cost of the kit. I prefer to have the mini buxom lip sticks and buxoms, because they're more easily portable and then I won't run the risk of having so much that I'd never use it all in one lifetime; but I'd already swatched Milan and Berlin in my local Sephora and confirmed that they're too warm for me.
