Please pardon the gaps...

The site is in mid-migration now (manual migration of over 7,000 entries, so there's a lot to be done.) The entry stubs are created for older content, but for the most part, the actual content isn't there quite yet. I am working on it. Unfortunately I have no ETA. But feel free to link to any page! When the content does get populated, the URL will stay the same.

True Love’s Lament

In the midst of my organizing last night, I found several colors that I hadn't properly labelled...and one color that I had never, ever used. The sifter seal was still in place.

Tragic, I'm telling you, tragic.

I grabbed two of the now-labelled colors that I thought would look nice with the one that had thus far escaped swatching, et voila.

Face

  • Sephora Light Touch Concealer in Light Beige
  • Meow Cosmetics foundation in Sleek Himalayan
  • TSS' Wisp of Bliss blush

Eyes

  • Benefit Cosmetics' Flatter Me creaseless cream shadow
  • TSS' Love Letter Lies, lash to brow
  • TSS' Chasing Whimsies, inner eye lid and corner + below lower lash line
  • Sephora Flashy Liner in Flashy Mauve, upper lash line
  • Everyday Minerals' Mystic Night, patted over Flashy Liner pencil and applied dry to outer lid/just inside orbital bone and blended outward and upward
  • Bobbi Brown Everything mascara in black

The colors

The look

While I like the look, I think that it would have looked better with a darker pink. Chasing Whimsies is pretty, but the color was so very soft - no contrast with Love Letter Lies, not enough pigmentation to make a good accent color, though it did nicely brighten and tint beneath my eyes. I think that color will make a nice all-over color, like Love Letter Lies was for this particular look.

Mystic Night may have been overlooked until this point, but it's just lost its cloak of invisibility. I think that this will become one of my "go-to" liner shades, like TSS' Knights Trump Dwarves.

And may I just take a moment to sing the praises - yet again - of Sephora's Flashy Liner pencils? They're inexpensive, they apply easily, they provide a nice color base for dry pigments, AND they provide a bit of brightness even if you're using something like Flashy Pink or Flashy Mauve, which are subtle colors. They're wonderful pencils, and I highly recommend them - even over big favorites like Urban Decay's waterproof pencils. I love these Flashy Liner pencils!!!
