More of a dark charcoal rather than a straight-up black. Or possibly it's a softened black. Either way, the application was not what UD pencils often are (but what the matte-finish pencils so often are, unfortunately.) The color was patchy, and a second coat had a tendency to ball up the first coat a bit, and I ended up with a somewhat “pilly” application.
There are some good matte eyeliners in UD's Glide On collection. There are some great dark grey or soft black eyeliners in UD's Glide On collection (Perversion and Zero.) If you missed this one and were thinking of buying on Ebay…get one of those other pencils instead. It'll cost you less (probably) and you'll get a better-performing eyeliner.
