The site is in mid-migration now (manual migration of over 7,000 entries, so there's a lot to be done.) The entry stubs are created for older content, but for the most part, the actual content isn't there quite yet. I am working on it. Unfortunately I have no ETA. But feel free to link to any page! When the content does get populated, the URL will stay the same.
Always…never…check your references. (Or in this case, your list of colors and your basic arithmetic.) In the course of adding one more color today and doublechecking my list of colors, I found three face colors included in the overall count and found four colors that had never been listed. Then I decided to add up the totals…and came up with not 917, but first 898. Then 905. Then 905 (again). Then 905 a third time. So, yeah - 905 colors being used in the challenge.
Unless, you know, I do a recount later and find that I screwed up my arithmetic *again*.
On the other hand, I know that my tally of colors used is accurate; and even though I've already taken three “days off”, I'm on target (905 colors to use over 365 days, should use just under 2.5 colors per day (statistically wonky) or 76 colors in a month. I've used 45, and it's the halfway point through month one, so I'm good. Now I just have to maintain the pace.
I've already identified a dozen colors that won't be staying in my stash. While most of them are from Simply Naturals, one is not: Pure Luxe's China Blue. It's a pretty color, but it's barely pigmented. I don't know if that means they only used colored mica to create this color, if they added a heck of a lot of base mix, or both…but while it's pretty enough, it's not useful enough to earn itself a permanent place. So hello “design” color (if my next site design has a pile of pool-chalk-blue pigment, that's probably Pure Luxe's China Blue.)
I've been spending time figuring out looks, putting together themes…all kinds of prep-and-planning stuff. I know that as the year goes on, I run the risk of losing steam unless I've planned things out, possibly even used a lot of colors up in the first month or two to allow for the bouts of laziness that I know will occur. I'm actually kind of having fun. I'm going to be doing looks based on the western moon-sign zodiac, the major arcana of the tarot, holiday-based looks (kind of a duh), and some astronomy-inspired stuff. There's also a book that I may use for a theme, if I can find color-correspondences.
