Zoya’s Arielle

This is a fairly cool mauve. I originally held off getting it because it didn't really thrill the daylights out of me - and I couldn't find any mani photos. Then finally I found some, AND I was in the market for some cooler pinks, AND had recently gotten Zoya's Paige and fallen in love with the color. So, thought I, what else have I passed by that I'll end up loving to pieces?

Two coats gave me complete opacity, but I'll admit, with Zoya's cremes I've started applying them just a little thicker - especially with Zoya's semisheer (opacity 3) shades. This one says that it's a 4, but it seemed a little thin to me. Which is interesting, since…don't nail polishes either separate or thicken with age? So either it should have been very goopy, or I'd have seen the layer of oil sitting atop the colorant? This isn't one of the newer shades, either: the collection was released in early 2006.

This is the only other color I have from the Re-Cher-Che collection…and the only other one I'm likely to get. The other colors are both semisheer, and shades that don't appeal to me much. (Though I think that Yvette might be the semisheer version of Vivi, and I really like Vivi.)

Photos that show how the product actually performs...! See how I create my swatches
