Apparently it's not just me…lots of people have problems getting yellow creme/matte nail polishes to apply smoothly. I'd love to know: is that something in the overall mixture? Does the largely unleavened yellow pigmentation somehow affect the product consistency? Whatever happens, or why it happens, I know I don't have this problem consistently with my blue creme polishes, or my reds, or my pinks, or my greens or browns. Just the yellows. I even have two other polishes from this collection, and both of those applied quite nicely. (One - Yummy - is a bright blue creme; the other - Tart - is a quasi-metallic blue frost/shimmer.)
The polish isn't thin. I had full opacity in two coats. Nor was it dreadfully uneven, in that there were no “bald spots.” It just wouldn't apply smoothly. It slubbed, it pulled, it had lumps, it Would Not Play Nice. I liked the color - a bright yellow without being garishly bright. I just didn't like the way the manicure turned out. This was my third attempt, by the way. This polish was not playing nice. I would dearly love to know if it's just me, just this particular batch, or if this is indeed a characteristic of most yellow creme polishes.
On the upside, the slubbing/lumping/pulling won't be in evidence when I use this as a stamping polish.
This color was discontinued in 2012.
