I hemmed and hawed about this one for a while after the Wicked promo pics came out - I like purples, but they're not my 100% absolute favorite polish to color unless they're a duochrome or holographic, and I already have several (both from Zoya and from China Glaze). Still, once I saw what Zoya's microglitters looked like, I went ahead and got Julieanne during one of their holiday promos.
One coat isn't opaque, but it's nicely dark. The polish is a tiny bit streaky with one coat, and you can see the blackened undertones - especially if your first coat is very thin. Two coats gives you full opacity and the foiled finish.
The purple is as dark as Ki‘s purple-phase, but Julieanne is not a duochrome. No green gold, or even silver flashes in this, just the blackened purple and the purple microglitter. Looking at the color plates I received of the Flame collection, Julieanne is a darker, cooler purple than Valerie (from the Wicked collection). If you want a slightly warmer purple, check out Valerie instead. Valerie is still a dark purple, not a deep mauve or a “wine purple”...but it's just a tiny fraction warmer than Julieanne. I haven't compared this to Yasmeen, so I can't tell you how those two stack up. I'm going to guess that Julieanne is a tiny bit darker than Yasmeen, and has the foil finish where Yasmeen will look more like a pearl (I've noticed that a lot of the colors that Zoya calls “metallic” actually match up with what other companies call a “pearl” finish…or it's something right in between the two. A metallic pearl?)
