Zoya’s Song

When the collection was previewed, I wasn't too sure about Song, Ray, Elisa, or any of the metallic shades. Zoya has an interesting track record with the metallics, in that sometimes they're metallic-looking and cool (Richelle, Jules, Trixy) and other times they're more along the lines of a high-shine creme (Angel, Delilah, Joy, Nikki, Faith, Celeste…and the list goes on.) I finally decided to get Song because, if nothing else, it was a lovely-looking non-black blue.

Turns out that with this collection, Zoya's definition of ‘metallic' is actually trueing on with my (and most others') definition of the term. Song is a gorgeous bright medium blue that applies easily and wears well. There's an interesting quasi-textural appearance to the finish: Song looks like a super-high-shine creme with sparkling blue bits in the nail polish. It's still not the “chrome” metallic finish that most people associate with metallic nail polishes, but it's much closer. It's also a really lovely shade! I don't know for sure because I haven't tried it yet, but I think that this might be thick enough for fairly easy use in nail stamping.
