TKB Trading’s Ballad Blue

TKB Trading’s Ballad Blue

Looks almost like faded denim - not the nearly-white stuff that's sold in stores (and charged for exhorbitantly) but where the piece has been washed a lot and the entire color has softened significantly. This is a straight mica with no added base mix to help with adhesion, so it will only really stay in place if you apply it over a damp base - and if you're not practiced with your brush, you may get some fallout. There's barely any shimmer to this at all…but the color payoff is excellent. This is dark enough for lining - in fact, I have to use a light hand when using this as a contour shade because it's so pigmented. This is a dark brown, but it's not a black-brown. It's just barely warm.

Much more silver-platinum than blond, with a slight metallic finish. The color payoff isn't the best, when applied dry, and it doesn't build easily. Not one of the better offerings from Rockeresque. I can see this being used as a soft highlighter shade for brow and inner eyelid, but it would not be my first choice for an all-over color. It just lacks the color payoff, but it's too opaque to be a wash or used in layering, either.
