The photos on the vendor site make these look like the interference layer shows up very distinct from the base layer. In actuality, when I swatched these…they ended up as something of a blend between the two. Sometimes, the result was a little muddy. The shadow quality on these is okay, about average for indies. If you absolutely fall in love with one or more of the base shades, and the interference (duotone) effect is secondary, by all means, give these a shot. They apply fairly easily whether dry or wet (foiled).
When I was looking at the vendor photos, I thought I might end up getting Musca and Oculus in full-size. Both appeared to have a heathered base shade which would nicely complement both my coloring and the jeweltone and saturated eyeshadows that I have. After swatching, though, I decided against getting these in fullsize. Oculus ended up being a lighter purple, and Musca...I may one day go back for Musca. I haven't entirely decided. (If I find a shadow that's just Musca's base shade without the interference color, I'll probably get that instead.)
