BareMinerals’ Exotic Pearl

I don't know why, but in the pot this color looks off-white. Applied…it looks less so. It's not a bright white, certainly not a glowing white shade; but it looks white, not ecru. (The mysteries of visible wavelengths, huh?) The coverage is decent, but it does cover better when applied dry if it's stippled on, not brushed on. The finish is closer to a scattered sparkle, than either a pearl or a shimmer. The white isn't the right color to work as a highlighter for me - I'd need a brighter white, or something that was softer and could be applied more heavily without looking like “OMG this is white you guise!!!”

Photos that show how the product actually performs...! See how I create my swatches

A montage of three images: top left, close-up of the eyeshadow in the pot; top right, the eyeshadow mixed with water and applied to bare skin; bottom left, the eyeshadow applied dry over primer.
