Aromaleigh v2’s Nuit

Aromaleigh v2’s Nuit

A softer blue, but not semi-transparent. It looks like a slightly brighter version of Sonia, from Aromaleigh v2's Fall Tapestry collection. It isn't vivid enough to look intimidating, but not necessarily dark enough to work easily as a liner or in a smokey eye. It provides just enough of an accent color without being overkill.

There isn't much pigmentation to this one. It isn't that it's a yellow, it just seemed that about half the colors from this collection were less pigmented than Aromaleigh shadows had generally been, previously. This isn't soft enough to easily be used as a brow highlighter shade on all skintones, but it isn't deep enough to be easily used as a medium soft yellow color, either. It does show up a bit better when placed over a yellow or off-white...

Alphabet Nail Challenge: Z is for Zara (by Zoya)

Alphabet Nail Challenge: Z is for Zara (by Zoya)

This is my final day of the challenge! I made it through, didn’t skip any days, and only had two “substitutions”...fairly cool! (Though if anyone actually does have a nail polish whose name begins with X, I’d REALLY love to hear about it!) I’ve had Zara for a while, but I’d only worn it twice and I must not have been in the proper mood for mid-purples because I didn’t have memories of loving...

Meow Cosmetics’ Prophecy

Meow Cosmetics’ Prophecy

I hesitated to get this color, because I've got several whites and near-whites (Bubble Bath from the Simple Pleasures collection being one that I haven't even swatched yet) but decided to add it. It's more of an off-white, and most of the creams that I have are from Bare Escentuals and are somewhat sheerish. This color can be sheered down or applied lightly, but there's actual color payoff - so it makes a nice addition.

Meow Cosmetics’ Winter Solstice

Meow Cosmetics’ Winter Solstice

One of the brighter colors in the End of Days collection. This almost looks like it would fit in better with the Lost Rainforest colors! Looks a bit like a blue morpho butterfly. This works best for me as an accent color, because it is brighter and I prefer looks that have bright accents, but aren't so vivid in the main color(s). Adhesion is good, and the pigmentation is excellent. There's no stain left behind when I remove the...

Meow Cosmetics’ Reckoning

Meow Cosmetics’ Reckoning

This is an interesting shade..! It's a near-rose color, but with russet and coppery tones that add depth to the color. I also knew I was kind of in trouble when I liked up Reckoning, Prophecy, and Winter Solstice and thought, “Ooooo, hey, lookathat! A 4th of July EoTD! Assuming the world is still around, that is.” (I do not believe that the world is going to come to a cataclysmic end when the Mayan Long Calendar ends. All this...

Alphabet Nail Challenge: X-substitute: Thanks a Wind-million (by OPI)

Alphabet Nail Challenge: X-substitute: Thanks a Wind-million (by OPI)

I don't have any nail polishes whose names begin with X. I don't even *know* of any nail polishes whose names begin with X. So I'm bending the rules just a wee tiny bit. This is very similar to Zoya's Bevin, but not exactly the same. I want to say that OPI's polish formula seemed a little bit thinner, but I honestly can't recall.
