Alphabet Nail Challenge: O is for Ocean Love Potion (by OPI)
I’m participating in an Alphabet Nail Challenge that I found over at Confessions of a Secret Shopper. She’s running her contest from September 1 to 26 - start between those dates, and you can add your link to the list of people taking the challenge. All you have to do is post 26 manicures, one a day, each day using a polish that begins with a different letter of the alphabet. I’m using this as an opportunity to go through my backlog of polishes (and photos still on my hard drive!!) to show off some of my newer goodies.
An interesting teal-aqua that reminds me a bit of Zoya’s Zuza - but Ocean Love Potion has just a touch more heft.

Almost - but not quite - a yellow-orange. Ordinarily I can’t wear those colors too well; and even with this one I have to be careful what I pair it with, or it will lean a bit too yellow. It does work as an inner-lid accent color; and for warmer-toned folks it probably works the same kind of wonders that Cinnamon Bay works for me.

I have a few golds like this one: a deeper gold, not quite a gold-taupe but nearly. And possibly some greenish undertones thrown in to really confuse me. This was part of a kit that I got from Silk Naturals. I don’t like how these old-gold colors look on me quite so much, so I’ll veer away from purchasing most of them on my own.
Color-preferences aside, this applies well and has decent adhesion. The color payoff is solid, and while there’s not a whole lot of shimmer when the shadow is applied dry, it’s not semisheer, nor is it a “softened” version of itself. The finish isn’t quite metallic, but the shade and the faint shimmer makes it seem like it might be trying to be metallic. All in all, if you look good in gold eyeshadows, this will be a good addition to your makeup drawer.

I love it - a softer peach-pinkish metallic! Not a bronze or brassy color, just softer. Sandier. I love the shade, the color payoff, and application. It’s almost like China Glaze’s Robotika in eyeshadow form - but more pink tones and a little less brass.
