BareMinerals’ Gorgeous Eyes Unlocked kit

This was the first of the 2015 holiday kits that I spotted, shortly after Labor Day - for non-US-ians: 2nd week of September. I was immediately interested because a) it was a loose-powder kit; and b) more than half of the colors were new. (Actually, of the four repromoted colors, two were ones that I didn’t have in my collection - so bonus!!) The overall palette is neutrals and purples, so it’s a pretty versatile, near-universally flattering kit. While the Ulta website has this flagged as being “Only at Ulta”, that’s a misprint. This kit is available from Nordstrom’s, Macy’s, the BE webstore, Beauty.com, and QVC…and probably other places.

Filigree, Lyric, Mystique, Nightingale, Rhyme, and Sceptre are all new colors. All of them have fairly good pigmentation. I wasn't thrilled with the fact that they are mini colors...but the upside is that if you don't like a particular shade, you don't have much of it. The kit is not the best value I've ever seen for BE kits, since each jar is effectively just under USD$8.00. But since just over half of them are new, it's less easy to be extremely annoyed. If you're trying to decide which loose-powder BE kit to get this year, and you can only get two, I'd strongly recommend making this kit one of the two.

This kit contained:

  • Filigree
  • High Style
  • Lyric
  • Mystique
  • Nightingale
  • Rock Crystal
  • Rhyme
  • Sceptre
  • Wearable Pistachio Light
  • Wearable Plum Dark
