BareMinerals’ Magical Grand kit

Originally introduced in late September 2008, this kit was still available for purchase through QVC over two years later…though there were, of course, fewer choices of foundation shade and the kit was full priced. I initially was uninterested in this kit because the colors seemed a bit uninteresting. I later got a pot of Magical as a giveaway from someone who fell out of love with the shade…and I fell -=in=- love with the shade. I still wasn’t interested in purchasing this entire kit, though. Much later, in November 2010, BE released Ta-dah in one of their iQuad compacts and I picked up several older fullsize pots on Ebay. I do love both of the eye colors, but I don’t regret not buying the kit from QVC. I’ve never completely understood why they keep pricing the Grand kits this high, and why they include so many of the staples like the foundation, the interminable mineral veil, and the brushes. They could move more product if they offered a “colors-only” version of the kits with just the eyeshadows, the blushes and radiances, and the lip colors for around $50. Even many of the old-time collectors/fans/diehards would buy those “baby grand” kits then.
