BareMinerals’ Twilight Pearl

I have the regular (okay, the “platinum infused”) version of this color, and now I have the eyeliner-version as well. Initially when I heard about this kit and color, I thought: oh, yay, they're giving us two old colors. Huzzah. Twilight Pearl is a new take on a pre-existing color, though. There's a slight blackening, so in some ways this is a less metallic version of Aromaleigh v1's Drama Blue. I also like how the color presents as more of a teal-blue when applied dry, and more of a navy when applied wet.

I don't know how successful this color would be in a blue-based smokey eye - much like Modern Pearl, it's a blackened shade, so it might work or it might not be the best choice. I do know that the blue is a less substantial component than the blackening, at least when this color is applied wet. It's easy to thin the blue out so much that the black is the most prominent thing. I think that's partially why the color presented as a navy when foiled, rather than a teal-blue.

Photos that show how the product actually performs...! See how I create my swatches
