Benefit Cosmetics’ Plum-ing for Gold cream shadow

With “Plum” in the title, you might expect this to be a purple. Well…perhaps it is to others, but to me it's a lovely maroon. This is actually the color I'd hoped MAC's Artifact would be, but isn't quite - so I'm very happy!!

Photos that show how the product actually performs...! See how I create my swatches

A montage of three images: top left, close-up of the eyeliner tube or pencil barrel; top right, the eyeliner applied over bare skin, to better show the shade and properties; and below, the eyeliner applied on the eyelid at the lash line.

Currently this item is only available in the Femme Metale kit. I really hope that Annie and Maggie increase the color range of the creaseless cream shadows, and include more colors like this one and Silver Spoon. The texture and opacity, not just the colors, are amazing and gorgeous and I love them. I've said previously that I preferred MAC's paint pots to Benefit's creaseless cream shadows, both because of performance issues and cost (both overall cost, and cost per ounce). If more of Benefit's cream shadows are like the three colors in the Femme Metale kit, I may be able to say that Benefit is beginning to give MAC more of a run for the money.
