This collection was a partial re-release of a previous collection, but also included several new shades. I only have three colors from this collection, and won’t be looking for the others. Awakening, Optimistic, and Cafe Mystique are pretty enough, but Optimistic and Cafe Mystique are both on the thin side, and require four coats for total opacity. Many of China Glaze’s polishes from later collections seem to be a bit thicker; and one of the attractions of many China Glaze polishes (for me, at any rate) is that they do double-duty as nail stamping polishes. That’s not quite so easy to do with a watery polish that doesn’t show up very well unless you apply multiple coats!

• Sunrise — orange-red shimmer
• Verano — cool lilac-pink shimmer
