I had heard about Vinylux polishes, but was not all that interested in examining them too closely. Then I saw photos of their Gilded Dreams polishes, and decided - hey, let’s look at these a little more closely. And, whaddaya know, I now have a new obsession.
Of the various gel hybrids on the market, I’ve only really tried three: Gelish, Sally Hansen, and Vinylux. Gelish is okay, but is a bit spendy. Sally Hansen does not stay on me longer than their Complete Salon Manicure colors…and it costs more. CND’s Vinylux, now - these will actually stay on me for a week, and go on fully opaque about half the time with just one coat.
These colors caught my attention because of: pink foil, gold with faint pink duochrome; and a sheer blue with suspended sparkles. I hadn't used any CND Vinylux before, so when I placed my order I got one of each of these limited-edition shades, plus two more colors. (And, of course, the top coat.) The foil has more of a tendency to show tipwear than the other two shades, but fixes blend in very easily - and the chipping didn't start until the fourth full day of wear. This is not my normal experience with most nail polishes, which can start showing tipwear by the end of Day Two - and can show major chips (or peeling!!) by day three. These CND Vinylux polishes go on easier and last longer, and all three of the shades in this collection look lovely.
