Please pardon the gaps...

The site is in mid-migration now (manual migration of over 7,000 entries, so there's a lot to be done.) The entry stubs are created for older content, but for the most part, the actual content isn't there quite yet. I am working on it. Unfortunately I have no ETA. But feel free to link to any page! When the content does get populated, the URL will stay the same.

EoTD: Hearts’ Set

Still feeling a bit ill, but not as poorly as I was over Thanksgiving. Today for breakfast I had pumpkin pie and coffee, which is of dubious nutritional value but excellent taste value. :D

This look is part of the One Year Eyecolor Challenge (new colors used: 5) and Dance Monkey Mondays (colors Pinot Noir and Swing Set chosen by member Galen). Want to see a certain color combination? Just register, leave your colors (up to three) in the comments on that post, and I'll just keep working through the list.

Galen chose the colors Pinot Noir and Swing Set for this look. She wanted to see red and grey paired up. It sounded like it could either be soft, nicely dramatic, or somewhere in between, depending on placement. Unfortunately...Pinot Noir is a rather sheer color, and so is Swing Set! I pulled a darker grey and a darker red, for more color. Shiro Cosmetics' Hearts is from their latest collection, and is a truly stunning red. I just used an angled liner brush to put that in place. Trixie is a blue-grey, it's one of those "right on the border" colors - but it worked as a nice crease color, and gave the look more depth. Alternate colors I would try in place of Pinot Noir, for a little more red-definition include Bare Escentuals' Passion, Aromaleigh v1's Velvet Dream, or The SheSpace's Bionic Mania. Having a very soft grey works for this look, so I don't know that I'd necessarily change that one; but substitutes can include Bare Escentuals' Dove, Aromaleigh v1's Fog (use a light hand), or The SheSpace's Fact or Fantasy.

I had some infantile moments when coming up with a name for this look. Swinging Trixie or Trixie Noir sounded like something that would get me a lot of Google hits, but for the wrong reasons. Pink Hearts and Trixie's Heart sounded to saccharine for my mood today, and Trixie's Hearts...well, I don't know that any Time Lords named their offspring Trixie.
